Producing a Test Strategy which guides QA Teams to shape and direct software requires a clear thought process and holistic view of the ecosystem. Test strategies should evolve to continuously deliver software with right speed and quality. This is a must have skill for every software quality professional.

The transition from waterfall work style to Agile DevOps using RM process to manage the entire software delivery lifecycle from planning to building to testing to deployment, and the roadblocks that I faced during the work to achieve the goals.

As an internationally experienced IT professional with a Master of Information Sciences (IT), I have successfully identified test requirements, designed and planned test conditions, and configured test environments, including all hardware, software, and data components to meet quality requirements. This also included full responsibility for the success of the test effort as well as the project.

The areas in which I excel the most include IT support; test automation and QA; test management and release in an Agile and DevOps environment as well as leading and training teams to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to add value to organizations.

I am able to identify and design new solutions for automation and develop test strategies, test plans and test summary reports. I have also gained valuable expertise in project management, including leading test teams assembled for various projects and managing resources to allow test activities to be completed within strict timeframes.

My passion in life is to work towards improving the quality of work and supporting people's needs through the use of technology. I am a motivational manager with excellent problem solving and leadership skills, along with the ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external users, stakeholders, non-technologists and cross-cultural teams.

Is the quality assurance engineer ready for this challenge? Software development has evolved from waterfall to agile and from traditional to continuous delivery, while the role of QA has predominantly remained unaltered. It's time to redefine it. In this talk, I will take you through the reasoning behind redefining the QA role and how to achieve that transformation.

X Topic Abstract

THE PROBLEM:

Software is getting more and more complex.

Any individual person does not have enough time to build and maintain expertise at all the technologies and processes that are involved in running a production Kubernetes cluster. Yet, employers keep seeking to steal mythical "10X" and "full stack" people, which leads to resumes filled with "un-truths" and disappointments all around.

What is most frightening about this dilemma is that managers cling to the myth that everyone knows how to secure every aspect of systems when there has been inadequate training to achieve that. Automated scanners can only catch major misconfigurations.

This talk focuses on possible solutions to this dilemma.

The next level of testing is not about tools, but about collaboration on an industry scale.

What is needed is a collaboration among vendors, employers, and consultants to openly share the configurations and utilities each thinks is needed to secure production environments.

In 2022 there emerged an open-source structure of Infrastructure-as-Code to enable anyone to bring up a full production Kubernetes environment, with all the add-ons needed, in one command.

There are, of course, many different combinations of technologies that need to be mustered. So this talk addresses such concerns.

One is how to combine functional, performance, and capacity tests from each vendor into a single run to determine whether a vendor trying to introduce an upgrade will break other components.

The project still has a long way to go, but there is finally an architecture that may enable people to learn what production looks like beyond just learning commands for certification tests.

Getting up early every day over several decades enabled me to develop grit at learning and leveraging skill in what works better (cloud, AI technologies with data and machine learning, Blameless, etc.). So I don't just code and tune programs in shell, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, etc. but also improving the pace, quality, and security through DevSecOps. Along the way I've had to become an expert at statistics, Git/GitHub, Word, Excel, animated PowerPoint, etc. as well as KanBan, project, and people leadership.

Over the years, I've worked or traveled as a U.S. Citizen to all 50 US states, all lower Canadian provinces, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Israel, etc.
