Shift-Left Testing is an approach that enables testing early in the development life cycle.
Shifting-Right extends testing into build and delivery. It makes sure policy controls, automated tests, and drift detection are in place and ready for production workloads.
Shift-Right Testing enables us to react swiftly to unexpected behaviour in our environments. that might be caused due to a manual or system-triggered change.
AWS Config & Control Tower provide out of the box guardrails and can trigger auto-remediations. This automated approach is very powerful and scales on an enterprise level where you need to manage applications across several AWS accounts and regions.
By establishing a more controlled way to govern environments we enable faster release cycles and reduce the risk of security breaches.
Gerald is the Chief Architect – AWS at Anchor. He is focusing on application modernisation utilising AWS Cloud Native services. He is passionate about solving business problems with strategic solutions to enable quick release cycles, whilst also reducing complexity and cloud hosting fees. As a public speaker, he is keen on sharing his insights and learnings with the community to make the cloud an even better place.

In recent years companies start moving a considerable amount of computing, networks, and data into the cloud. In most cases, the lift and shift model does not bring any advantages and is more expensive to run on the cloud than on-prem. Enterprises invest a considerable amount of effort in reengineering existing enterprise applications to a new cloud-native model to take advantage of cloud-native managed service and use existing cloud capabilities. Just by moving to a microservice model, the company needs to put considerable effort into designing a cloud-native CICD pipeline that can support the long-term growth of the product. In this presentation, we will cover few ways organizations can use Engineering practices starting from using the source control system, versioning up to the automated deployments, all managed in a source control system.

2020 has dramatically impacted the way we live, work and shop. In Australia in particular, where the extended lockdowns will have a long lasting impact on customer behaviour, the quality of online experiences we provide has never been more crucial, accentuating the New Normal of ‘do more with less’ for the testing community. In this talk I will review technology and processes available which organisations can leverage now to overcome their current limited capabilities, as the building industry did by leveraging the elevator in the 1850s to evolve and create the skyscrapers we now see everywhere.
Working in IT for the last 30 years, I have witnessed the evolution of software development technologies and processes and the impact of Digital Transformation on IT organisations with the renewed focus on Customer Experience and the increasing need for Software Quality at speed. With a keen interest in Automation, AI and Machine Learning, I have helped organisations leverage new and disruptive technologies from Virtual Assistants and Voice Biometrics to Visual and Functional Test Automation.
I will talk about Digital Transformation Programme journey (I will talk about the preparing for Agile, Shift left, Test Automation. Also the journey will cover the MVP, and Setup for success the release of St John products.)
It brings together several workstreams under one umbrella for the enablement of Digital Transformation led by product change and delivering several underlying supporting capabilities. It takes a phased approach allowing us to bed in digital concepts, to create repeatable frameworks for Digital Product evolution using Agile Methodologies. There are 3 primary workstreams – Design, Enablers, and Product On-boarding.. And how the testing team involved in this war zone.
I will cover the following:
A quick explanation of Agile Testing and Test Automation What it means to me and How I embracing it within St John.
I will also be looking at what it means to use Agile to take initiatives from "Demand" through to "Delivery".
Talk will cover Facts & Myths w.r.t Test Automation - for those who are new to this field & for those who want to enter this field + for the experienced who have created this fear . How test automation can create a cohesive work environment by assisting the delivery process?
Quality & Test Automation Enthusiast. Passionate about creating innovative ways to test software, use cases & whatever that ensures quality delivery & end-user satisfaction. Love to collaborate with people for knowledge sharing & other social reasons.
Cloud Native CICD done right
Cloud native is a way to build and run applications that benefits from the advantages of cloud computing delivery models. When companies use this model, it makes it faster to bring new ideas to market and respond to customer demand. Cloud native computing uses modern cloud services like container orchestration, serverless, multicloud to name a few.
Continuous Integration was a practise that emerged from eXtreme Programming(XP) concepts which is the method to integrate code into a shared repository for building/testing each change automatically. Continuous delivery is a method to frequently deliver software to production.
In this topic Cloud native CI/CD, I shall share my experience about building continuous integration and delivery pipelines (i.e build -> test -> deploy) to support cloud native development.
Chethana Krishnakumar is a software professional with experience in the field of software testing , devops and development. She has experience building test teams and developing testing strategies. As test consultant she has provided guidance to development teams to shift left with their testing practises. During her stint at Atlassian, as a test architect, she has built test tooling across various platform products and enabled best practises of CI/CD across various teams. Currently she is focused on building cloud native applications for Atlassian Forge which is a platform helping vendors build extensions for Atlassian products.
Cloud computing has a large momentum and new cutting-edge technologies are available compared to traditional on-premises architecture. Benefits are numerous and include lower upfront costs, impressive scalability, faster setup and many more. That's why a large number of projects are being migrated to the cloud. At the same time, a vast majority of new projects use cloud services. Even though cloud technology provides a lot of benefits, the challenge of testing these systems still exists, especially in testing business logic. Azure is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft,one of the biggest cloud providers at the moment. I will share my experience in working on an Azure-based solution.
This presentation will:
Provide ways of monitoring what is going on in the Azure cloud;
Explain the differences between traditional and cloud testing;
Provide ways to automate cloud testing.
Test automation is a key practice these days. But how come that I see so many organizations still relying on manual tests. In this presentation we look at continues cycles in test automation. Derk-Jan will share the journey he made while trying to implement test automation practices at various organizations. He’ll compare his experience with today’s state of automation. Together we’ll discover how much has changed and what challenges seem to be consistent. Test automation is about testing. But automating tests forces us to think about requisites, maturity, and business cases. Test automation can be used to drive test improvements. But: What if you have a test automation framework, but the tests just ain’t no good? Does that mean you are back to square one? We’ll explore a successful marriage between testing and automation and explain why the success of AUTOMATION actually lies in automating good TESTS.
Derk-Jan de Grood works as agile transition coach for Squerist. He has worked for organizations like ING Bank, RTL, DPD, Nationale Nederlanden and Greenchoice and supported them in their Agile Transformation. He wrote several successful books and frequently publishes articles and columns for the major magazines. In 2014 he won the EuroSTAR testing excellence award. In 2016 he published “Agile in the real world, starting with Scrum”, currently he is working on his next book on delivering value in complex organizations. Derk-Jan is an experienced trainer, workshop host and a regular (keynote) speaker at conference like Agile Business Day Venice, XP Days Copenhagen, Selenium Days New Zealand and the Agile Testing Days and STAR conferences in Europe and America. On his own blog he shares his knowledge and experience for everyone to benefit.
I will cover What is Contract Testing, the Benefits of Contract Testing, Tools available to implement Contract Testing with live examples, Business Benefits of Contract Testing.
