X Topic Abstract:

The main reason of test automation lagging behind in the software testing lifecycle and becoming a technical debt later, is the inability to conceptualise and create automation tests before the application is ready. Waiting for our application to be developed and stable to begin automating our tests may not be the smartest way and leads us to constantly playing catch-up with the new features. Sahi Pro's latest release 9.0 introduces the brand-new concept of Business Driven Test Automation (BDTA) which solves the problem of functional automation in a simple and elegant way. BDTA allows creation of Business Scenarios very early in the development cycle - right at the feature conceptualization stage. BDTA is an Intuitive and easy framework that allows business testers to automate their tests easily. Testers can express the business intent in natural language, record actions, parameterize and data drive the tests, all through an intuitive UI. Watch an informative hand-on demo on Business Driven Test Automation using Sahi Pro.

“The job of QA is not just to do testing — it’s to build quality in.”
How often have you heard that sentence? And how often has it been followed up with solid practices for actually building quality in?
Test-Driven Development (TDD) is one of the foundational practices of high-quality product development. Popularized nearly 20 years ago, TDD is an important skill for high-quality software development. If you want it to be easier to build high-quality code, then you need to understand TDD.
In this hands-on session, we’ll learn by doing. Richard will facilitate a coding dojo, a safe place to learn and practice the skills of test-driven development. We’ll mob program together on a coding kata — an easy programming problem — to learn TDD, refactoring, clean code, code smells, and more — all in the pursuit of technical agility, business agility, and a great product that people love. To follow along, bring your laptop and development environment. We recommend Java and IntelliJ IDEA.

In the new world of dev-ops, cloud-based services, agile development, and continuous deployment, the opportunity to test up front has disappeared. While rapid feedback loops help deploy fixes quickly, an investment in helping customers and end users help themselves is also a viable option. The Modern Workplace Supportability team at Microsoft builds diagnostics and self help content to serve customers directly. Diagnostics allow the IT Administrator to initiate a self help check rather than having to open a support case. In addition, investments in building virtual agent (chatbot) conversational AI, with integrated diagnostics enabled customers to solve problems through an online chat. For example, a chat about Compromised (hacked) email accounts could be checked and resolved by the virtual agent and through an inline diagnostic.
